Yakima Environmental Health Fees Increase

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Yakima County Environmental Health is proposing to increase most food service permit fees for 2027, according to a newly released fee schedule. The proposed rates would nearly double for many common permits, including Level I food service at $477.50 from $299, Level II at $667.50 from $431, and Level III at $921.50 from $630.

The proposed fee for a mobile food truck Level I would rise to $577.50 from $428, while a standard pre-opening inspection would jump from $22 to $388. The only unchanged fee is the $10 Food Handler Card, which remains at the current rate.

The county has not yet adopted the new fees, and the public can comment before the final decision. The current adopted fees for 2026 remain in effect until a new schedule is approved.
