Yakima County Public Services Closes Friday Walk-In

Yakima County Public Services and County Roads will permanently close walk-in customer service on Fridays starting immediately, following a successful three-month pilot program. The 4th Floor of the County Courthouse will now be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Board of County Commissioners approved the permanent change after reviewing data from the April 2026 pilot. Customer surveys showed 94% support for the Friday closure, with 81% reporting improved service timeliness. Staff will continue working Fridays to process permits, conduct inspections, and handle other duties.

Residents can access online services through Accela Citizen Access or visit the county website for permit information. The county will continue to provide walk-in service Monday through Thursday.
