Yakima City of Water Department submitted a project to install a subsurface sand filter at Randall Park Pond to treat discharge, according to a June 16 SEPA filing. The project at 1399 S 48th Ave requires environmental review for critical areas. The city also approved a 3.17-mile multi-use pathway along SR 24 from University Parkway to Bell Road, with two phases. The first phase will connect Birchfield Road to Bell Road, and the second phase will extend to University Parkway. WSDOT and the City of Moxee are collaborating on the project, with public comments due by June 30. Apple Tree Construction proposed a 135-lot subdivision at 2206 S 96th Ave, creating 27 lots per phase over five years in R-1 zoning. The project, reviewed by Yakima City, will require environmental review for the proposed development.
