Stormwater Work Closes Streets in Yakima

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

A stormwater project will close Chestnut Avenue from 19th to 22nd Avenue starting August 26. The closure includes roadway repairs and curb replacement, scheduled to end September 4. Access to properties will remain available.

Work on South 7th Avenue began September 15, including stormwater improvements and paving. It will continue until September 25. A separate project on 32nd Avenue near Nob Hill Boulevard will close parts of the road in two phases: September 10–12 and September 15–17.

The City of Yakima Public Works department manages these projects. Residents should expect traffic delays and use detours. The city advises checking for updates on its website.
