Multiple city projects will close roads and alter traffic from Sept. 10-25, with detours and closures on 7th Ave, Chestnut, and 32nd Ave. The City of Yakima announced a stormwater project on South 7th Avenue starting Sept. 15, with work including curb replacement and paving until Sept. 25. A separate project on Chestnut Avenue will close the street from 19th to 22nd Avenue through Sept. 4. Meanwhile, a water main project will close parts of 32nd Avenue south of Nob Hill Sept. 10-12 and north of Nob Hill Sept. 15-17. The city said access to properties will be maintained during closures. Residents should expect delays and detours. The projects are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements to water systems and roadways.
