Interim Fire Chief Appointed

Yakima City Manager Vicki Baker appointed Tom Huntington as interim fire chief effective July 6, following Aaron Markham's retirement at the end of June. Huntington, a leadership development professional with The Referent Group, begins his role today.

The Nob Hill and Fair Avenue utility line project will cause overnight single-lane closures from June 29 to July 1, with traffic signals flashing red between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. A stormwater project will temporarily close portions of Naches Avenue and Lincoln Avenue from June 17 through mid-July.
