Gilbert Drive will be closed between Yakima Avenue and Barge Street starting Monday, April 20, through Monday, April 27. The City of Yakima announced the closure is needed to address drainage issues and repair the roadway surface in that stretch.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area during the week-long closure. The city says access will be maintained to properties adjacent to the work zone.
The Gilbert Drive closure comes as the city is also managing road work at the Fair Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard intersection, where lane and road closures have been in effect since April 13 and continue through April 30. That work is completing roadway surfacing for a Nob Hill/Fair Avenue project that began last year.
