The intersection of 72nd Avenue and Washington Avenue in Yakima will be fully closed starting at 6:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, through 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, for roundabout repair work. The closure runs around the clock for the full five days.
The city says detours will be provided during the closure. Access to properties within the project area will be maintained throughout the week.
The roundabout at that intersection was completed in September 2025. The current work involves replacing concrete used in the island portion of the roundabout, which requires the full intersection closure.
Also beginning Monday, April 6, a section of Adams Street between S. 8th Street and S. 9th Street will close through April 10 for a stormwater project to restore curb and gutter and repair drainage issues. Property access will be maintained in that area as well.
